Basketball Recap: Viewmont Drops Season-High Score on Hunter

Viewmont's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took down the Hunter Wolverines 66-47. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kailey Selleneit had an outrageously good game as she went 8-for-20 en route to 25 points. Those 25 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Millie Egnew, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Despite the loss, Hunter still got an impressive performance from Grace Gallagher, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 21 rebounds. Gallagher is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 28 games she's played dating back to last season. Skye Davidson was another key player, shooting 43% from the field to rack up 16 points.

The win got Viewmont back to even at 2-2. As for Hunter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Viewmont has already played their next contest, a 42-38 loss against Crimson Cliffs on the 5th. As for Hunter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-50 defeat against Carbon on the 5th.
