Volleyball Recap: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. La Jolla Vikings
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mission Hills can now relate to. They fell just short of the La Jolla Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Mission Hills actually scored more points across those five sets (110-109), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 28-30, 16-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-12.
Their offense was headlined by Jordana Bugge and Athena Pula, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Ever Lanier and her 25 assists. Karlee Brandt controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Mission Hills' loss dropped their record down to 22-10. As for La Jolla, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-20 record this season.
