Soccer Recap: Sandwich Comes Up Short

Sandwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Coal City Coalers, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Sandwich can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Coal City are ranked 98th).

Sandwich's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Coal City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

Coming up, Sandwich will face off against Yorkville Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Coal City, they will take on Providence Catholic at 3:15 p.m. on the 17th.
