Football Game Preview: Dixon Dukes & Duchesses vs. Genoa-Kingston Cogs

The Dixon Dukes & Duchesses will take on the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dixon's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-0 victory over Streator. Winning may never get old, but the Dukes & Duchesses sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Landon Knigge had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 177 yards and five scores on only 13 carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 17 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last matchup, Genoa-Kingston made sure to put some points up on the board against Rock Falls on Friday. The Cogs breezed past the Rockets to the tune of 62-6. That looming 62-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cogs yet this season.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Genoa-Kingston, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Dixon against Genoa-Kingston when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-7 win. Do the Dukes & Duchesses have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
