Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Legacy Comes Up Short

If Mansfield Legacy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Crowley on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos fell just short of the Weatherford Kangaroos by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kangaroos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Mansfield Legacy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-12.

Ayallah Sanogo paced Mansfield Legacy's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sanogo got some help from Ja'Mia LaBad and her 37 assists. Sanogo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Mansfield Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Weatherford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season.

Mansfield Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lake Ridge on the 7th. As for Weatherford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Boswell on the 7th.
