Baseball Game Preview: Killingly Trailblazers vs. St. Joseph Cadets

Killingly hasn't had much luck against St. Joseph recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trailblazers will square off against the Cadets at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Killingly 3.9, St. Joseph 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Killingly didn't have quite enough to beat East Lyme and fell 2-1.

St. Joseph's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Ludlowe on Thursday. The Cadets came out on top against Ridgefield by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

The team relied heavily on Jake Failla, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

St. Joseph pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Killingly, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Killingly came up short against St. Joseph in their previous matchup back in June of 2025, falling 3-0. Can the Trailblazers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
