Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Fort Morgan Mustangs
The Northridge Grizzlies can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over Fort Morgan. The win was just what Northridge needed coming off of a 66-41 defeat in their prior match.
Northridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jillyin Fulton, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Fulton scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Carbajal, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shaelynn Ramirez, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bella Phillips, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Northridge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Fort Morgan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northridge will take on Frederick at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Frederick is ranked 61st, while Northridge is ranked 65th). As for Fort Morgan, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. Roosevelt is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
