Pine Ridge picks up sixth straight win on the road

Recap: Pine Ridge Thorpes vs. Red Cloud Crusaders

The Pine Ridge Thorpes had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against Red Cloud by a score of 67-55. Given Pine Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Red Cloud is ranked 63rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marvin Richard lll continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. Richard lll is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Anthony Steele was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and three steals.

Pine Ridge pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Red Cloud, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Pine Ridge on the road again on Saturday and play against Little Wound at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Red Cloud, they will play host again and welcome Sturgis Brown, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
