Softball Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

Westside extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 23-0 to the Callaway Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Thursday.

As for Callaway, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-10. Considering they have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Callaway's part, they got a massive performance out of Ryleigh Seymour, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Johnnie Fuller was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside will venture away from home to square off against Pike County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Seminoles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Callaway, they will challenge Spalding at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
