The Freeburg Midgets will head out on the road to face off against the Roxana Shells at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Freeburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Freeburg after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Mascoutah by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Midgets, who until this matchup were averaging 3.08 runs allowed.

Dane Johnson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Miller, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.

Meanwhile, Roxana unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Salem by a score of 7-6.

Nick Miles stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Sean Maberry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Roxana's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Freeburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.

Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Freeburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Roxana struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
