Football Recap: Niceville Piles Up the Points Against Navarre

Niceville won the last time they faced Navarre and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles breezed past the Raiders to the tune of 34-6. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Niceville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jakobe Gilyard, who rushed for 201 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 61 receiving yards and one score. The Eagles are 5-2 when Gilyard posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Another passer making a difference was Deagan McCoy, who threw for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Niceville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Niceville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.6 points over those games. As for Navarre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Niceville and Ponte Vedra will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Sharks' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. Navarre does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
