Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Culleoka

Culleoka barely beat Perry County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 8.2 runs per game.

Wyatt Demastus tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Ethan Lovett was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. McKinley (mac) Putnam was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Culleoka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry County only posted an OBP of .158.

The win made it two in a row for Culleoka and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Culleoka will take on Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perry County, they will square off against McEwen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
