Football Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Northglenn Norsemen. The Tigers lost against the Norsemen in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 40-20 score last time.

Kasten Steinke threw for 92 yards on ten of 24 attempts. Rickey Anthony was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.

Northglenn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avin Franklin, who picked up 106 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 106 receiving yards gave Franklin a new career-high. Nicholas Reynolds was another key rusher, rushing for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Northglenn, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
