Baseball Game Preview: Kimball Jaguars vs. West Wolfpack

The Kimball Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the West Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kimball will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

On Wednesday, Kimball needed a bit of extra time to put away El Capitan. They had just enough and edged out the Gauchos 12-11. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Jaguars as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Aj Rodriguez was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Carson Pollack was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI.

Kimball was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of Antioch.

Ryan Mendez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Alexis Negrete also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

West's loss dropped their record down to 4-15-1. As for Kimball, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Kimball beat West 4-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
