Football Recap: Villa Park Beats Great Oak for Their Third Straight Victory

It's playoff time, and Villa Park had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Great Oak Wolfpack 30-6 on Friday. The Spartans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 12th (when they won 43-7).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Villa Park's defense and their six sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Maverick Declark, James Ulloa, and Sebastian Hamblet, who each picked up one sack apiece. Villa Park got some further help from Declark: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The win (which was Villa Park's third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points over those games. As for Great Oak, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
