Baseball Recap: Philip Simmons Extends Winning Streak to Three

Philip Simmons waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Andrews Yellowjackets by a score of 6-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Iron Horses also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Peirce Mullen made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Philip Simmons: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 4-5 otherwise. Mullen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Daniel Scarth was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Philip Simmons now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Andrews, they now have a losing record of 3-4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philip Simmons will welcome St. Francis de Sales at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Andrews, they will be playing at home against the Iron Horses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
