Basketball Recap: North Marion Comes Up Short

North Marion was the 73-60 winner over Forest when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The North Marion Colts took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Wildcats.

When it comes to explaining why North Marion lost on Friday, don't look at Jerdarrius Jackson. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 15 to rack up 18 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Lamont Sweeting JR, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Forest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Curry, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and eight assists. Those eight assists gave Curry a new career-high. Isaac Timmons was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

North Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

North Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-42 victory against Eastside on the 5th. As for Forest, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-53 win against Buchholz on the 5th.
