Volleyball Game Preview: Anoka Tornadoes vs. Blaine Bengals

The Anoka Tornadoes will face off against the Blaine Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anoka is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

If Minneapolis Southwest wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Anoka, they should've done a better job of containing Ava Lanasa. The Tornadoes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakers on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-2 thanks in part to Lanasa, who had 13 digs and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Anoka was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-14, 17-15.

Blaine not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on St. Francis with a sharp 3-0 win.

Anoka's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Blaine, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Anoka beat Blaine 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Bengals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
