Softball Recap: West Wolfpack vs. Lodi Flames

West had lost seven straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-15 to make it eight. They lost 12-2 to the Lodi Flames. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Flames this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-0 defeat on April 9th.

Mya Camp and Aubrie Martin did some serious damage despite the final result: Camp went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI, while Martin went 1-for-2 with four RBI. That triple marked the first that Camp has hit this season.

As for Lodi, their record now sits at 11-8-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Lodi's side, Harlow Padilla made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts Padilla has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and five RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Schallberger, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Abigail Schweigerdt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, West will head out on the road to take on Kimball at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wolfpack surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lodi, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Lincoln on the 29th.
