Volleyball Recap: Wellington Wolverines vs. Dwyer Panthers

If Wellington was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Palm Beach Gardens on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Dwyer Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Wellington took Dwyer into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 16-25, 25-8, 15-11.

Nicole Koch paced Wellington's offense, picking up 13 kills. Koch got some help from Faith DiMaria and her 22 assists. Kristen Haggerty controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Dwyer found their leader in freshman Victoria Addazio, who had 15 assists and seven digs. Addison Inge also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Wellington's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Dwyer, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.

Wellington has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Lake Worth on the 13th. As for Dwyer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Royal Palm Beach on the 15th.
