Basketball Game Preview: Wetumpka Indians vs. Montgomery Catholic Knights

The Wetumpka Indians and the Montgomery Catholic Knights will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Wetumpka is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.

Wetumpka's tournament run continued when they took on Prattville on Monday. The Indians managed a 57-53 victory over the Lions.

Wetumpka's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb Ballard, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 20 boards. Ballard's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Chris Robinson was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double with ten points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.

Wetumpka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Montgomery Catholic beat Stanhope Elmore 51-47 on Monday.

Wetumpka now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Montgomery Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Wetumpka beat Montgomery Catholic 63-53 in their previous meeting back in January. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
