Baseball Game Preview: Gilbert Tigers vs. Highland Hawks

The Gilbert Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Highland Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gilbert is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They lost 19-7 to Campo Verde. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Coyotes since April 4, 2019.

Cameron Foegal made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Kaiden Hurley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Highland came up short against Mountain View on Friday, falling 9-2. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Toros recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Colton Shreeve was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
