Softball Game Preview: Central East Bengals vs. Clovis North Broncos

Central East came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Buchanan, falling 24-4. The Bengals haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Clovis North waltzed into their game on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with a 13-4 victory. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Jocelynn Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Clovis North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Clovis North's win bumped their record up to 18-3-1. As for Central East, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-20.
