Basketball Recap: Bentley Starts Season with Win at Home

Bentley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Averroes Falcon 65-36. The contest was close at halftime, but the Phoenix turned on the heat in the second half with 50 points.

Bentley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Paul Foster out in front who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Westen, who put up 17 points.

Averroes' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Naeem Rivers, who had 18 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Amin Khairzada, who scored nine points.

Averroes' record is now 1-1.

Bentley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-37 victory against Oakland Military Institute on the 2nd. As for Averroes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-54 defeat against Eastside College Prep on the 25th.
