Baseball Game Preview: Fultondale Wildcats vs. Parker Thundering Herd

The Fultondale Wildcats are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the Parker Thundering Herd at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, it was close, but Fultondale sidestepped Parker for a 7-6 victory.

Brody Mathis made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Rogers, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Omi Blue was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Parker and bumps their season record up to 3-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.5 runs. As for Fultondale, their record is now 3-1.
