Basketball Recap: Jefferson Forest Drops Highest Score of Season Against Heritage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson Forest). Everything went their way against the Heritage Pioneers on Tuesday as the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers made off with an 82-57 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-42 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Heritage had strong showings from Marissa Allen, who posted 21 points and three steals, and Tailor Coles, who put up 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in points. Calyce Garvin was another key player, putting up nine points.

Jefferson Forest's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Heritage, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Jefferson Forest will host Rustburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will venture away from home to square off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Heritage surely won't give up without a fight.
