Basketball Recap: Legacy Academy Comes Up Short

Legacy Academy lost against Magdalena back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Silverbacks had to suffer through a 53-16 loss at the hands of the Steers.

Leading Magdalena to victory were Jema Ganadonegro and Elia Cleveland. Ganadonegro posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Cleveland shot 54% from the field on her way to 15 points. Cleveland is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikole Torres, who had eight points.

Legacy Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Magdalena, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Legacy Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-40 loss against To'hajiilee on the 6th. As for Magdalena, they have also already played their next matchup, a 59-49 victory against Texico on the 6th.
