Volleyball Game Preview: University Liggett Knights vs. Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit Jaguars

The University Liggett Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

University Liggett took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Austin Catholic as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Knights not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit came into Tuesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Detroit Cristo Rey by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

University Liggett now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-6.

University Liggett took their victory against Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
