Softball Recap: Douglas County West Takes a Loss

The Douglas County West Falcon didn't have quite enough to beat the Freeman Falcons on Saturday and fell 5-4.

Bella Zach made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton White, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Douglas County West's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Freeman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

Coming up, Douglas County West will host Gretna East at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Falcon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Freeman, they will challenge Grand Island Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
