Hickory has gone 9-1 against Western Branch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hawks will look to defend their home court against the Bruins at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Hickory beat Oscar Smith 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Western Branch not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Lakeland as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

While Western Branch won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-7, 25-23.

Hickory's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Western Branch, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Hickory came out on top in a nail-biter against Western Branch when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
