Football Recap: Korbin Brown Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Liberty Tech Magnet

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Collinwood, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Liberty Tech Magnet Crusaders 39-24.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Korbin Brown out in front who rushed for 134 yards and one score while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Brown is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another signal caller making a difference was Braxton Howard, who threw for 119 yards and four TDs.

Another reason for the win was Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Daegan Collins was especially locked on to Liberty Tech Magnet's QB and sacked him twice.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty Tech Magnet lost, don't look at Keivon Marshall. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's record now sits at 5-2. As for Liberty Tech Magnet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central will be playing in front of their home fans against McKenzie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
