Baseball Recap: Sturgeon Bay Wins Going Away Against Peshtigo

While Sturgeon Bay put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Peshtigo. The Clippers blew past the Bulldogs 10-0. Considering the Clippers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Bryce Plzak made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sturgeon Bay is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Plzak was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

In other batting news, Braylon LaRoche was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jack Higginbotham, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Sturgeon Bay hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peshtigo struck out eight times.

With the win, Sturgeon Bay broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Peshtigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
