Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carolina Day). They put the hurt on the Statesville Christian Lions with a sharp 9-1 win on Thursday. Even though Carolina Day got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Bella Leder was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Carolina Day's offense was hitting Statesville Christian from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Isabella Stafford led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Carolina Day moved to 4-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Statesville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Carolina Day will challenge Asheville Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Statesville Christian has already played their next contest (against University Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
