Game recap: Murphy High School Football Team defeats Alleghany

MURPHY, N.C. -
Murphy (N.C.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 45-28 win over
Alleghany (Sparta, N.C.).
The Bulldogs put up 21 points in the opening frame. Murphy scored on a touchdown run by
Deion Johnson, a
Dalton Kent touchdown pass to Johnson and a touchdown pass by Kent to
Bradley Puccio.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Johnson in the first quarter, MHS was up 45-0 at the half.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Bulldogs, who lost to Swain County last week, 36-27.
In a playoff game next week Murphy (10-3) takes on Rosman, and Alleghany (7-6) will go up against Elkin also in a playoff game.
