Volleyball Recap: Kellogg Wildcats vs. Priest River Spartans

It was a good run, but Kellogg unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Priest River Spartans. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.

While Kellogg had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 11-25, 25-18.

Even though they lost, Kellogg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.

Kellogg's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Priest River, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Kellogg will stay at home for another game and welcome Orofino at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Orofino will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Kellogg surely won't give up without a fight. Priest River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
