Basketball Recap: Lincolnton Starts Season with Victory at Home

Lincolnton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 78-22 win over the Corvian Community Cardinals. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wolves had established a 55-point advantage.

Curmiya Tillman was nothing short of spectacular: she posted 21 points and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Nyjaiviah Blake, who scored 11 points and six steals.

When it comes to explaining why Corvian Community lost, don't look at Emily Johnson. Despite the final result, she had 12 points.

Coming up, Lincolnton will host Hough at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Corvian Community, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gaston Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
