Volleyball Recap: Seminole Ridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Royal Palm Beach on Wednesday, Seminole Ridge came back down to earth. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Cardinal Newman Crusaders on Thursday. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

Seminole Ridge was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Cardinal Newman work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-10, 29-27.

Abi Chin Lee paced Seminole Ridge's offense, picking up 12 kills. Chin Lee got some help from Ivanna Sierra and her nine assists. Finally, Kyla Wallace kept Seminole Ridge's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Seminole Ridge's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Cardinal Newman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Seminole Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Westwood on the 14th. As for Cardinal Newman, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Somerset College Prep Academy on the 14th.
