Recap: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Northern Guilford Nighthawks
The Ragsdale Tigers fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Northern Guilford Nighthawks on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Nighthawks 61-55. While losing is never fun, Ragsdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Northern Guilford is ranked 94th).
Ragsdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being KJ Burke, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Burke hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Patrick Carter was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Ragsdale are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16. As for Northern Guilford, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ragsdale will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Page at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Page is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Northern Guilford, they will head out on the road to square off against Southeast Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
