Softball Recap: Lambert Has No Trouble Against South Forsyth + How To Watch

Lambert never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the South Forsyth War Eagles as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Reagan Young made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Young was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Yi, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Paige Wentworth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lambert kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lambert now has a winning record of 10-9. As for South Forsyth, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lambert will have a chance to go back-to-back against the War Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
