Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Forest Cavaliers vs. Liberty Minutemen

The Jefferson Forest Cavaliers will square off against the Liberty Minutemen at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Jefferson Forest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

Last Tuesday, Jefferson Forest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-59 to Liberty.

Jefferson Forest better keep an eye on Shania Brown. She was instrumental in Liberty's win, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 24 rebounds. Brown's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cierra St. John, who posted 13 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Liberty, bringing their record for this year to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games. As for Jefferson Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
