It's playoff time, and Coronado had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 20-13 victory over the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won five matches in a row.

Bailey Goldberg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 250 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of her passes, and also rushing for 87 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Her passing game has become a key predictor of Coronado's success: the team is 12-2 when her passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-4 otherwise. Maddy Aguilar was another key player, gaining 149 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Coronado was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Although Sierra Vista took the loss, they still got scores from Amaya Wusstig and Mary Agnes Kahawaii Pula.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Sierra Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Coronado didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-14 defeat against Foothill on the 14th. Sierra Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
