Basketball Game Preview: Shining Light Academy Knights vs. New Life Christian Academy Warriors

The Shining Light Academy Knights will take on the New Life Christian Academy Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. New Life Christian Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shining Light Academy, who comes in off a win.

Shining Light Academy barely beat Greater Vision Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-34 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-12.

Shining Light Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Watlington led the charge by shooting 73% from the field to rack up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Evaro, who posted eight points along with 13 boards and five assists.

Shining Light Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, New Life Christian Academy came up short against LifeSpring Academy on Monday and fell 53-44. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Life Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Shining Light Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
