Baseball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Eagles vs. Grace Christian Academy Lions

The Victory Christian Academy Eagles will square off against the Grace Christian Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Victory Christian Academy came up short against Point Arena on Friday, falling 8-1. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Victory Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Hernandez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Potter Valley as they made off with an 8-1 victory.

Leif Jackson and Jerome Swehla made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jackson didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Swehla struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Jackson has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. At the plate, Jackson went 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Swehla scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Cruz, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Victory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Grace Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Victory Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grace Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 17 strikeouts.
