Baseball Recap: Lecanto Takes a Loss

Lecanto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hernando Leopards. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dylan Czerwinski and Tommy Wilson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Czerwinski got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, while Wilson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Russell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lecanto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hernando, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Coming up, Lecanto will challenge Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hernando, they will square off against Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
