Softball Recap: Tolland's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Tolland extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 10-2 in the process. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Catholic, sneaking past 3-1. That's more bragging rights for Tolland, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for East Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

For East Catholic's part, Amelia Deschaine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. Deschaine has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katinka Nolan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
