Baseball Game Preview: Moline Maroons vs. Metamora Redbirds

The Moline Maroons will challenge the Metamora Redbirds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Moline's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Metamora has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Moline's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Quincy. The Maroons haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Metamora suffered their closest loss since March 26th on Wednesday. They fell just short of Canton by a score of 7-5.

Cole Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Mason Sauder was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Moline's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Metamora, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
