Baseball Recap: Foothill's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Foothill's offense. They fell just short of the Dublin Gaels by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Grant Hoenninger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

The loss snapped Foothill's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-4 record. As for Dublin, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
