Basketball Recap: Madison Skates Past North Decatur with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brownstown Central, Madison was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 68-36 victory over the North Decatur Chargers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cubs as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, North Decatur saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Owen Rennekamp posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Eldridge, who had four points and six rebounds.

Madison's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for North Decatur, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Decatur beat Madison by a score of 68-36 later that day.
