Basketball Recap: Ponderosa Starts Season with Victory Against Liberty Ranch + How To Watch

Ponderosa had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 75-62 victory over the Liberty Ranch Hawks on Tuesday.

Leading Ponderosa to victory were Jake Wycinsky and Clark Woods, ll. Wycinsky shot 58% from the field en route to 21 points and three steals, while Woods, ll went 6-for-9 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. Those 21 points gave Wycinsky a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Wycinsky, who posted 12 points.

Liberty Ranch lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Derek Nelson, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 19 points. Everett Dixon was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Liberty Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Ponderosa will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Union Mine at 7:00 p.m. As for Liberty Ranch, they will venture away from home to square off against Sonora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
