Volleyball Recap: Apalachee Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

While Apalachee didn't have the best season last year (they finished 17-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines on Thursday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

While Apalachee won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 26-24.

Despite the defeat, Prince Avenue Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rowen Hudson had 14 digs and two aces. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Hudson. Brielle Richardson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Apalachee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Apalachee will host Walnut Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they will square off against Athens Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
